Congratulations to Phillip Dutton and all connections of Fernhill Fugitive on 9th in place in Rolex Kentucky CCI****. Fugitive (previously named Could Be) was bred by Maurice here in Barnadown and produced by Steve before being sold as a 5 year old.
The long drive to Kilguilkey House in Mallow was made worth while by SRS Adventure (Billy) winning the CNC 1*. He led the dressage on a score of 24 followed by a classy double clear. Delighted with him!!
A great result for Billy in the first leg of the HSI 5 year old eventing series last Sunday. We were very happy with our second place finish in this hotly contested section.
Delighted with Harry and Ann-Marie Fitzpatricks 5 year old Hit and Miss today in the very strong five year old qualifier at Coilog Equestrian. We were unlucky to have the last fence down in the 3rd round, just missing out on qualifying for the RDS. Better luck next time!!
Ever consistent Barnadown Who’s Who picked up another good result with a 2nd place finish in the very hotly contested final of the HSI 5 year old league. He finished on his very good dressage score of 25.
We were very pleased with 4 year old first timer SRS Chillout. It was his first eventing Ireland intro. He led the dressage in his section!! A steady cross country round meant that we picked up a few time penalties so we just missed out on being placed. It was a very positive first run for him.
Another busy but good weekend for us.
Stevie made his long awaited comeback this weekend. Delighted with how 7 year old Goodwill VB jumped in the National Grand Prix, it was just his 2nd class at this level and with it being the final of the National Grand Prix league the track was certainly technical and up to height.
SRS Complete and I took 3rd place in the 5/6 year old consolation class.
Harry and Ann Marie Fitzpatrick’s 4 year old gelding Hit and Miss jumped very consistently over the 3 days to take joint 1st place in the 4 year old class. The format for the 4 year old class was fantastic, after the 3 rounds over 3 days the prize fund was divided between all of the treble clears.
Delighted with how the horses went last week at the RDS. It was my first time jumping at this show and it was a fantastic experience.
Creevagh Cruise and SRS Complete both jumped well in each of their qualifiers. SRS Complete (Joey) just missed out on qualifying for the 6 year old final. He jumped a super clear round in the second qualifier on the friday morning, unfortunately his rider was just too slow and we picked up a time fault. Must not hang about next time!!!
It was definitely Joker’s week with a fantastic result in the 4 year old final. The top 6 horses from the two qualifiers got through to the final on the Saturday afternoon. The stands of the Simmonscourt arena were absolutely packed with hundreds of people watching the class, a big ask for any 4 year old. He behaved and jumped brilliantly, I was over the moon to finish 3rd in this seriously competitive class.
We just did one day at the extremely popular South County show in Coilog. It was a great prep show just before Dublin. All of the horses jumped nicely including Paraic’s two rides Crockett 13 and French Cruise.
Next stop RDS!!
It was a great weekend away at Tattersalls Summer Show, super jumping and fantastic facilities.
SRS Status (Joker) and Barnadown Who’s Who (Ricky) did the 1m and 1.10m classes. Both boys jumped well and growing in experience all the time. Paraic jumped great double clear rounds in the 1.20m’s each day with Edward Doyle’s French Cruise.
Creevagh Cruise had a good show, a nice clear on the Saturday morning qualified us for the 5 year old HSI final on Sunday. She jumped super in the final and we were good enough for 6th place in a very competitive jump off.
